Our Wines

We believe that winemaking begins
in the vineyard and at Cooper
Vineyards, farming in the
Shenandoah Valley of Amador
County spans five generations.

Cooper history is embedded in the
soil our vines thrive in. Thanks to
the winemaking talent of Michael
Roser, we offer an exciting portfolio
of seventeen wines. Our boutique
production of hand-crafted wines
allows us to sell out frequently,
often within six months of a release
date. When you find a favorite, we
encourage you to order early.

Current Releases

2007 Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc are available. Just ask!

Viognier (vion-yaaaayyy) 2007 ($20)
This is what Viognier is all about! Barrel fermentation imparts creamy
flavors in this ‘new world’ style Viognier. Add a splash of citrus and
bright acidity and you have our gold medal winner!

Roussanne 2007 ($20)
Our favorite sassy winter white is back!

Primitivo 2006 ($24)
Tri-Medal, 2009 Lodi International Wine Competition*
Occasionally grapes take on the characteristics of their grower. These
grapes come to us from local friend a neighbor, Betty. Lively, petite,
and the life of a party, both Betty and our Primitivo are a great
addition to any meal.

Sangiovese 2006 ($23)
Another year. Another smokin’ hot Sangiovese.

Syrah 2006 ($23)
Tri-Medal, 2009 Lodi International Wine Competition*. Juicy new release!

Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 ($23)
El Dorado county loves Cabernet grapes. Warm days and high-altitude
cool nights produce a medium bodied wine, rich in ripe raspberry flavors
and moderate tannins.

Zinfandel 2006 ($23)
Brilliant fruit flavors with mild pepper finish. Taste why Amador County
is famous for Zinfandel.

Dicembre 2007 ($28)
A georgous late harvest style blend of Zinfandel of Barbera. It’s like
Christmas in a bottle.

Dolci 2007 ($28)
Our late harvest Viognier. A sweet for your sweet!

*Tri-Medal? Judges are divided into three groups based on their number
of tastebuds: hypersensitive, sensitive, and tolerant. When each group
awards the same wine a medal, said wine has won a tri-medal.
